Sr. IT Analyst

Exelon is currently seeking a Sr Analyst IT for Chicago.PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Performs activities related to analyzing IT and/or Business requirements, designing, building, testing, implementing and maintaining solutions, products and processes under the guidance of a Lead Analyst or Manager. May assist in the coordination of tasks for subordinates.MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES Performs, documents and assists in planning work activities. For Projects: relating to analyzing requirements, designing, building, and testing to maintain and implement products and processes. For operations/application maintenance: Enhances, maintains or supports existing products and processes.Maintains business engagement and IT customer relationships.Assists less experienced personnel.Applies and verifies compliance to standards.Proactively builds business/IT knowledge to provide solutions.POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Appropriate technical skills and related experience.2+ years of Peoplesoft Payroll and HR experience.2+ years of database experience with understanding of SQL and stored procedures.2+ years of development experience with SQR, App Engines, Peoplecode.Knowledge of Unix and associated scripting languages.Strong understanding of Peoplesoft and database architectures.Understanding of Tax concepts preferred.Understanding and use of Mainframe applications (JCL) and scheduling.Demonstrate the ability to write and review functional specifications and test plans.Able to work with remote and local teams.Understanding of software development lifecycle.Excellent customer skills.Maintains and builds upon established customer relationships.Strong oral and written communication skills.Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.POSITION SCOPE Senior Analyst on an HR/Payroll Operational support team. Understand the process of how to support end users and perform operational support. Understanding the software development life cycle. Development of Peoplesoft related areas (SQR, Peoplecode, Application Engine, Cobols, data mover scripts).Writing reports and development using PHP, MySQL, and other open source technologies.Working with Mainframe, Unix, Oracle databases, and Windows technology. Supporting vendor developed applications.Working with developers on small projects and enhancements.Assist in developing technical requirements and specifications.Configure the application based on requirements; design and develop application reports and queries.Perform application and integrated testing, and manage and maintain enhancements, maintenance, and defect tracking for ongoing work to ensure quality implementation and to eliminate production problems. Undertake special projects as directed. Assist in preparing functional specification documentation. Maintain and manage Payroll, HR, Tax, Compensation, and time keeping schedules and processes.
