Sr. Product Manager
Responsible for all manufacturing and supply chain planning solutions across all verticals. Needs to coordinate with Sr. Manager of supply chain scheduling and managers of manufacturing solutions to deliver an integrated solution that meets the needs of all verticals.
• Coordinate all operational activities required to successfully develop new products and integrate existing products. Execute tight product launches by ensuring overall organizational readiness across appropriate functional groups - R&D, products, marketing, sales, sales operations, services, customer support and training, finance, and IT.
• Develop comprehensive business strategies around product pricing, product positioning, product launches and product naming.
• Provide technical leadership for a group of technically oriented people to create a single product vision and manage them to work together to achieve the vision.
• Provide business leadership by articulating the product vision and business case to company executives to gain their confidence to fund and effectively sell the vision.
• Work with Product Marketing to ensure product BOMs, calculators, and pricing policies are synchronized and correct.
• Interface with Product Operations Management (Order Administration, Finance, Distribution, and IT) to ensure all changes in product lists, BOMs, configurations, pricing, etc. are communicated so that these groups can maintain consistent operational execution.
• Coordinate and drive the implementation of ongoing product rationalization.
• Validate, analyze and manage product line business data, including pipeline and forecast reporting, to support effective product and business decision making. 10+ years of software product management and/or working knowledge of PIMS, DPO or Supply Planner or a competitive product such as RPMS, GRTMPS, SANDS, etc. Roles in Marketing, Development, Business Management a plus.
• Experienced planner for an operating company in the energy or chemical industries who understands planning issues associated with the plant and/or the entire supply chain.
• Proven experience of working with software R&D organizations to create product.
• Strong knowledge of business processes for planning and scheduling of the manufacturing supply chain for refining and chemical industries.
• Experienced in strategic and operational planning, rational unified process (RUP), market analysis, sales / marketing techniques.
• Well developed skills in the areas of planning, organizing, prioritizing, negotiating, and communication.
• Must be decisive, demonstrate sound judgment, and be self-directed, highly motivated, and detail oriented.
• Must work collaboratively with all levels and functions within Company's Marketing, R&D, Product Marketing, Business Consulting, Sales and Corporate functions / organizations.
• Excellent analytical skills, highly articulate and clear speaking and writing skills.
• Record of building, growing and managing staff.
• Proven track record of leading multiple functional groups to a common goal.
• Chemical Engineering degree. MBA or entrepreneurial experience would be a plus.
