Sr. Tax Analyst (81076051)

This senior staff-level position requires a broad working knowledge of tax concepts and specialized knowledge of federal tax law for purposes of calculating the income tax provision. The successful applicant can apply basic tax concepts, perform basic research, and has good communication skills. Strong organization and Excel skills are required to assist with the implementation of new programs.

Main responsibilities include:
• Gathering information from various sources for input into income tax provision
• Using TaxStream software and Excel to prepare the income tax provision
• Analyzing financial statements and other financial data, specifically as they relate to tax policy, procedures and compliance
• Assisting with analysis of complex accounting transactions to ensure appropriate GAAP treatment related to tax
• Obtaining knowledge of FAS 109 and related guidance
• Performing basic tax and accounting research using electronic research services
• Monitoring federal and state tax regulatory and legislative changes
• Maintains appropriate records for area(s) of responsibility
• Assisting in gathering information for external audit team
• Interacting with staff and business segments to research and assist in resolving tax issues providing outstanding client service
• Performing a variety of ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Typical Number of Years of Experience:
• 2+ years of relevant experience and Big 4 accounting firm experience strongly preferred
• Basic knowledge of accounting and tax requirements
• Bachelors Degree required
• CPA or Masters in Tax preferred

• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the tax department and to build professional relationships within the company
• Computer proficiency for typical tax and financial software and query activity, preferably with knowledge of CORPTax, Microsoft Office suite of products and Peoplesoft.
• Energized by fast-paced, dynamic business and transactional environment.
• Self-motivated, successful with limited supervision and capable of re-evaluating tasks to maximize tax benefits and efficiencies for the company.
• Possesses excellent time management skills to complete all responsibilities in accordance with established deadlines.
