Sr. Tax Analyst (810960662)

This direct entry exempt position requires a working knowledge of tax concepts, practices, and procedures and specialized knowledge of state and federal income tax laws.

Main responsibilities include:
• Gathering data to preparing federal and state income tax filings, related audit requests and tax planning requests
• Documenting tax return positions in standardized work paper files
• Assisting in the identification of tax return positions
• Analyzing financial statements and other financial data, specifically as they relate to tax compliance and tax planning
• Analyzing complex accounting transactions to ensure appropriate tax treatment
• Preparing tax returns and schedules for a complex group of legal entities
• Performing technical tax research using electronic research services and generating documentation to support tax return filing positions and refund claims
• Interacts with staff and business segments to research and resolve tax issues providing outstanding client service

Education and Typical Number of Years of Experience:
• 4+ years of relevant experience and Big 4 accounting firm experience strongly preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and tax requirements and the underlying policy, practices and procedures of public companies
• Basic knowledge of tax return processes is required
• Bachelors Degree required
• CPA or Masters in Tax preferred

• Ability to work with business personnel and spot tax issues.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the tax department and to build professional relationships within the company
• Computer proficiency for typical tax and financial software and query activity, preferably with knowledge of CORPTax, Microsoft Office suite of products and Peoplesoft.
• Energized by fast-paced, dynamic business and transactional environment.
• Self-motivated, successful with limited supervision and capable of re-evaluating tasks to maximize tax benefits and efficiencies for the company.
