The Senior Well Construction Engineer will work within a senior, multi-discipline petrotechnical team to leverage leading edge well construction technologies and best practices in support of the evaluation and development of challenging oil and gas field development projects. Target projects are typically located in resource plays (i.e.: tight gas, fractured shales, naturally fractured clastic reservoirs, and coal bed methane) and mature fields in the GOM shelf area having significant subsurface control, known distribution of sands, nearby analog production, 3D seismic and/or other data that will benefit from detailed reservoir evaluation and application of advanced E&P technology. 


The Senior Well Construction Engineer will support project evaluation work by providing offset or analog well analysis (ie:  creating hole section summaries / NPT analysis, wellbore schematics, days vs depth curves, MW vs depth curves) and validating pre-existing well designs.  Additionally, the role will perform drilling and completion engineering analysis to create new drilling prognoses for vertical, directional, horizontal and multi-lateral well profiles (i.e.: directional plans, casing designs, bit specification, mud programs, pore pressure / fracture gradient prediction, BOP / wellhead specifications, completion tool specification, stimulation plan, artificial lift design, etc.). 

 

This will be a significant learning and professional growth opportunity since the successful candidate will work on a number of vastly different project evaluations each year in various basins in North America. The successful candidate will develop the knowledge and expertise necessary to identify good fits between oil field asset development needs and leading edge technologies (i.e. engineering design software, bits, drilling fluid systems, directional drilling technology, multi-lateral drilling technology, underbalanced or managed pressure drilling equipment / techniques, logging suites, core acquisition, completion products, etc.).

 B.Sc. degree in Engineering Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience on technically challenging well construction projects. 

· Knowledge of well engineering software from Landmark Graphics is a plus.
