ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key accountabilities will be to:
Provide reservoir engineering leadership in order to maximize the value of development projects.
Update plans and forecasts (production and reserves) for developments.
Developing strong working relationships with technical members of partner teams.
Communicate with JV partners and regulatory bodies on engineering technical issues, as requested.
Foster teamwork and maintain a positive work environment to achieve job satisfaction and, consequently, contribute effectively.
Develop technical and leadership capabilities.

BEHAVIOURAL & LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Contribute to developing budgets, plans and contingency plans, as appropriate and ensure key project milestones and objectives are realized.
2. Develop production forecasts, reserve estimates, and engineering input into well plans/operations.
3. Participate in HSE and quality activities/initiatives.
4. Develop and maintain technical expertise.
5. Develop, maintain and manage networks and relationships with key individuals, other BHPB development and JIU/PU teams, government bodies (e.g. MMS), key consultants (e.g. regulatory staff) and joint venture partners.
6. Guide and mentor less experienced reservoir engineers on the team.
7. Foster active participation by team in well planning/execution teams and provide advice on well locations, well data collection, and contingency planning
8. Ensure that necessary documentation for appropriate regulatory submittals to the MMS is done accurately and meets requisite deadlines.
9. Facilitate communication of the team's technical results, technical position, conclusions and recommendations to development teams, joint venture partners and BHP Billiton management in both formal and informal forums.
10. Ensure effective handovers occur when Devs transition to Production Division.
AUTHORITY & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The incumbent will be the senior reservoir engineer in the team, responsible for technical coordination and mentoring of less senior REs on the team (one RE and one Graduate Engineer). The reservoir engineer will work closely with all subsurface team members. External stakeholders should be engaged in a positive manner.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and technical competencies
The candidate should have at least fifteen years or more of relevant experience.
Experience is desired with
- operated and non-operated developments
- geological modeling, reservoir characterization, production assurance, well planning and drilling operations.
- deepwater offshore developments and/or production, with both oil and gas developments, and with secondary recovery processes.
The candidate should have strong capabilities in reservoir simulation, integrated production modeling, fluid analysis, and integrated reservoir characterization.
Good technical communicator (written and spoken) and influencing skills
Excellent collaboration skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in relevant Engineering or Science discipline required
A minimum of fifteen years (for outstanding candidates) relevant experience in the upstream petroleum industry.
A strong background in field development is required in addition to partner relationship building skills.
