The New York Power Authority (NYPA), America's largest state-owned, public power enterprise, has an exciting opportunity for a Strategy Planning Specialist to work in our White Plains, NY office. 

 

In this position, you will facilitate the development of a comprehensive strategic plan according to our by-laws; institutionalize and anchor a strategy management philosophy and ongoing change strategy; promote improved operating performance and accountability; and facilitate the establishment of performance measures and targets as well as monitor performance against these targets.

 

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related technical field. A master's degree is desired. At least 10 years of experience, preferably in the energy business and/or planning functions is preferred. Previous experience must include significant work with senior leadership in strategic planning, business process management and performance measurement. Experience in cascading measurement systems and Balanced Scorecard is desirable. Demonstrated experience in facilitating measurement deployment and use in process improvement initiatives is required. An understanding of the electric utility industry (including business marketplace and competition) and utility operations is highly desirable. Familiarity with business unit success factors is necessary. Excellent presentation, decision-making, multi tasking, adaptability, problem solving, motivational, planning, organizational, verbal and written communication skills are imperative. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point is essential. Experience in strategic planning and measurement system software programs is desirable.
