Position Overview: This position is a Technical Career Ladder position within the Subsea Systems Team of Chevron Energy Technology Company (ETC). ETC provides technology solutions for business units, supporting both operations and new field development throughout the world. The Subsea Systems Team focuses on the development and integration of systems and technology into all phases of major subsea capital projects. The position of Subsea Survey Engineer provides technical assistance and solutions for general Subsea construction and geophysical surveys pertaining to offshore projects.If you are interested in a career as a Subsea Survey Engineer, located in Houston, Texas please see the position details below and apply directly to this position online:Qualifications: Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: • The candidate will support project teams by preparing survey documents including specifications, scopes of work, and tender packages including bid evaluations. • Responsible for ensuring survey requirements are fully considered in all phases of major capital projects, assisting with the development of specifications, designs, through life cost estimates and operability as a survey system. • Domestic and international travel will be required.NOTE: Resumes submitted in response to this job opening may be reviewed and processed for Chevron by independent service partners. Basic Qualifications:• The candidate must be familiar with offshore surveying procedures and techniques.• Demonstrates experience in offshore marine construction surveying and acoustic positioning methodology.• Demonstrates experience with LBL and USBL acoustic positioning systems.• Demonstrates experience with the calibration and operation of subsea survey and positioning equipment and the integration with vessels and ROV's.• Familiarity with acoustic jumper metrology, dimensional control surveys and survey equipment interface to subsea hardware such as plets, manifolds, jumpers, & subsea trees.• Demonstrates experience in all aspects of contractor activities - including selection, bidding, contract award, processing invoices, management of change, and adherence to project specifications.• Knowledge of geodesy / hydrographic surveying.• Previous construction or geophysical survey field experience: preference for offshore survey operations.• Networking/Teamwork - Ability to successfully network with industry and Company representatives and work in a team environment to accomplish Subsea Business Objectives, with little supervision.• Demonstrates highest safety & environmental performance and leadership traits must be proactive in addressing safety issues and have a proven track record of strong support of processes that support Incident Free Operations. Demonstrate support of management objectives and be a change champion. Have a good understanding of safe design & operating principles.• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, must be able to effectively communicate with management, customers and direct reports. Should have the ability to recognize communication gaps and appropriately address them. • Ability to maintain positive relationships with peers, contractors, supervisors, and customers.• Bachelor’s degree required with preferred discipline in Survey, Geomatics or Hydrographic Surveying Engineering.• Minimum 3 years experience required in surveying and survey systems within the oil and gas industry.Relocation benefits will be considered.This is a safety sensitive PositionEOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-TX-Houston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
