Supervisor - Dispatch

About the Opportunity Currently we have an opening for a experienced Dispatch Supervisor to work at  our Corporate location in Waltham.  This position reports to the Manager of Dispatch - Field Operations.As Supervisor the principle responsibility is to ensure effective dispatching of emergency, scheduled and meter work to ensure timely response to emergency situations and service requests to field personnel.  In this role the Supervisor will also contribute to the protection of the public through continual monitoring of Dispatch and Field Operations for adherence to emergency policies, procedures and response time objectives. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Ensure that timely and effective communications are maintained with Field Operations, other departments and  outside agencies.  Ability to effectively forecast and plan for anticipated workload and emergency requirements by ensuring adequate manpower resources are available.Control, coordinate and maintain various schedules for shift, holidays and vacations for New England field personnel.Work with Field Operations and Meter Operations maintain the systems necessary to ensure the appropriate files are populated and updated for the meter change-out programs.Provide System Administration functions for the dispatching system (Advantex).Identify and analyze problems and solutions/enhancements for CSS, CRIS II, History Data Base(HDB), HDB reporting, Advantex, Radio Networks and other systems while working with IT and vendors.Develop employee proficiency and relations through performance evaluation and goal setting.Perform continual training and support of employees to ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to.Participate in developing action plans for coordinating and resolving extended outages or other emergency situations with Field Operations.Responsible for proper dispatch coverage in the case of vacations, illnesses and holiday's etc. QualificationsCollege degree or prior supervisory or related work experience.Ability to analyze emergency situations and exercise sound judgment and communicate critical information to key personnel.The incumbent must be able to work independently under pressure with a diverse team of employees and co-workers.Computer literate in windows based environment with spreadsheets, data bases and mainframe usage preferred.NOTE:  This position requires D.O.T. drug testing   COMPANY: KEYSPAN ENERGY DELIVERYLOCATION: Waltham, MA 02451SALARY/WAGE: Plus yearly incentive compensation bonusJOB STATUS/TYPE: Full Time, EmployeeINDUSTRY: Energy and UtilitiesWORK EXPERIENCE: 5+ to 7 YearsCAREER LEVEL: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff)EDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor's Degree COMPANY: KEYSPAN ENERGY DELIVERYREFERENCE CODE: Req # 857 Supervisor Dispatch We recognize people as our most valuable asset.
