Duties and Responsibilities: This Supervisor Occupational Health and Safety supervises the daily activities of Customer Operations Gas and Electric Field safety consultants and office personnel. The selected candidate will be responsible for the performance of the safety consultants by providing coaching, counseling, discipline, training and development for safety staff as required. The candidate will create an environment that consultants can provide proactive service for overall safety improvement and will oversee and ensure timeliness of accident investigation reporting and completion. You must be knowledgeable and well versed on regulatory codes and compliances, OSHA, DOT, American Gas Association (AGA), etc. Some of the essential functions are to review business unit accidents and injuries to determine trends. You will actively lead meetings, weekly safety conference calls, represent and communicate safety initiatives and oversee and develop materials for safety meetings, posters, and alerts. Develop and implement safety processes and identifying company needs and conduct gap analyses thereby creating original safety programs specific to We Energies and/or identify existing programs that can be customized or adapted to company needs.

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree in safety/related field required with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of safety, including supervision experience or in a significant leadership role. Certified Safety Professional/Master's Degree is preferred but not required.
