About This Opportunity: Supv, Rapid Response Engineering
Responsibilities for providing supervision of Rapid Response Engineering Staff to ensure proper development of solutions to complex system/component problems and to ensure that Rapid Response Engineers are the first responders to most day-to-day demands of Engineering.
Ø Rapid Response Engineering is to be the first point of contact for engineering support of emergent Plant activities (Priority 200, 300, 400, 500 or below).
Ø Manage the proper completion of emergent and two-week schedule activities to ensure their timely implementation as required to support Plant operations. This includes: development of emergent temporary modifications; Engineering Change Requests (ECRs); Engineering Change Packages (ECPs); freeze seal packages; review leak repair packages; vendor technical manual updates; development of non-complex engineering calculations; development of equipment/component troubleshooting and problem solving plans; and working with various manufacturers, vendors, and technical engineering representatives to quickly resolve emergent issues.
Ø Work within the 12-week work management process.
Ø Ensure technical adequacy of all corrective actions to resolutions of system/component problems.
Ø Manage the completion of these activities to meet specified quality and timeliness requirements, as required to support Site Operations (both during outages and online).
Ø Ensure activities are completed in accordance with standardized FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company Fleet practices, policies, and procedures.
Ø Ensure satisfactory performance and qualification of assigned personnel; develop assigned personnel for increased responsibility and more demanding roles.
Ø Responsible for training, qualification, and development of engineering staff.
Ø Perform Emergency Response Organization activities as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Ø Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or related technical field,
Ø Minimum five years effective performance at a nuclear power plant in either Operations or Engineering,
Ø Effective written and verbal communication skills,
Ø Capable of interfacing with all levels of Management.
Ø Candidate must receive a positive result on the DDI Supervisory Assessment.
Ø Employment contingent upon successful completion of background investigation.
Ø Pre-employment drug screening required.
Must reside within a 30 minutes response time to Plant. Relocation benefits available.
Qualifications Desired
Ø Professional Engineer registration,
Ø Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator License/Certification.
