About the Opportunity This Supervisor of Regional Operations, Line and Substation, located in Cleveland, OH is accountable to direct and supervise employees engaged in complex construction, maintenance, testing, repair and operation of both company and customer owned Transmission, Distribution and Substation facilities and equipment. Plans and directs the installation, removal, and maintenance of electrical equipment including cable, transformers, breakers, and other associated devices. Monitor the activities of employees and enforce conformance to established work practices and methods (Preferred Practices Manual, Accident Prevention Handbook, Safety Specifications and Construction Standards). Implement instruction and training of section employees in the established work practices and methods utilized throughout the department. Request and coordinate the availability of necessary equipment, tools, materials and supplies required. Coordinate work with other departments and schedule construction, maintenance, repair or test work. Monitor and document work habits. Counsel employees, recommend corrective actions required to meet performance standards and acknowledge good work and work habits. Administer Company and Regional Absenteeism Management Program and Regional Safety Plan. Available to work storms, scheduled overtime and call-outs.
Qualifications
Must live or be willing to relocate within a 45 minute commute of reporting location.
High school diploma or equivalent required, as well as specialized training or equivalent work experience.
An advanced level of knowledge and experience in operations, repair and construction related to Electric Transmission and Distribution.
Must have knowledge of applied electricity to include AC and DC electrical circuits and equipment and knowledge of construction standards relating to T&D facilities.
Must have thorough knowledge of General Safety and Accident Prevention specifications, and clearance and switching control procedures in System Operations.
Must have the ability to learn various computer mainframe applications(CREWS, SAP, POWERON, AM/FM) and PC applications to include Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office.
Ability to make field drawings as required.
Excellent written and oral communications skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in known and unknown environments.
Ability to operate automobiles and trucks, and to a lesser extent, vocational equipment.
