Supplier / Technical Vendor Management, Manager

Role& Responsibilities:

·Work closely with vendor base to achieve targetcosts

·Work with internal and vendor manufacturing teamsto address current supply chain issues

·Act as a technical interface between R&D groups(internal and at the vendor)

·Lead technical projects related to new componentdevelopment

·Conduct VA/VE workshops at vendor baseand BE

·Support manufacturing with DFM projects and overseechange control

·Support manufacturing projects related to capacityand inventory control

·Initiate work on prototype FMEA, control plans

·Convert R&D projects and concepts tomanufacturable components.

·Convert concept drawings and specs to functionalspec and drawings and communicate key requirements to the vendor

 

Education& Desired Experience:

·BS or MS in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, MBA a plus

·7 to 10 years post-undergraduate experience in amass production environment

·Ability to manage technical and commercialactivities with the vendor base, with demonstrated experience working at alllevels at the vendor

·Proven technical and project management skills;ability to manage multiple projects/vendors concurrently and lead continuousimprovement teams

·Ability to interface across departments internallyand at the vendor, including Purchasing, Quality, R&D,Manufacturing, Marketing and Finance

·Hands-on experience working with massproduction/lean six sigma manufacturing systems and suitability to fuel cellcomponents and systems

·Solid understanding and experience with qualitysystems, capability analysis and cost drivers in manufacturing

·PPAP experience for high technology componentshighly desirable

·Demonstrated experience on achieving target costsin high tech industry

·Experience developing supply agreements and supplychain business processes

·Good understanding of business plan

·Ability to persuade vendors to undertake keycomponent projects using written and oral communications

·Ability to evaluate vendors on financial parameters, like capital structure,ROA, profitability etc (developsupplier scorecard) a plus
