System Control Trainer

Tucson Electric Power Company, one of Arizona's leading utility companies, is seeking a System Control Trainer that will be responsible for System Control operator training and coordinate any other training necessary for the System Supervisors. Ensure TEP is compliant with NERC/WECC and TEP training requirements. Develops, maintains and implements a coordinated training program including NERC CE provider status and  current NERC Certified Operator status. This position is open until filled.

 

Position-Related Responsibilities:

·  Complies with all  WECC, NERC, and FERC requirements

·  Maintains current NERC certification

·  Represents TEP and is active within various WECC training activities or committees.

·  Maintains NERC CE provider status and complies with all NERC CE program requirements.

·  Supervise the initial training program for the Associate System Supervisor ensuring all NERC/WECC and TEP training requirements are satisfied.

·  Supervise the continuing education training program for all Control Area Operations personnel ensuring all NERC/WECC and TEP training requirements are satisfied.



 

Management Responsibilities:



·  Ensure that the Company’s management principles, policies and programs are consistently practiced and continually support the Affirmative Action Plan.

 

·  Assume fiduciary responsibility for operating the business and provide recommendations on cost improvement measures.

 

·  Ensure that the Performance Management program is administered uniformly and effectively.

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·  Five years experience as a NERC certified System Supervisor.

·  A thorough knowledge of Tucson Electric Power generation resources and EHV transmission system knowledge of the WECC Transmission system, especially the southwest area Transmission system.

·  A thorough knowledge of WECC and NERC standards, policies, and procedures.

·  A thorough understanding of Company policies, procedures, standards, rules, and regulations as they pertain to the operation of the company’s generation and transmission.

·  The ability to communicate effectively with other departments within the Company, other Control Areas, and any other affected entities, both verbally and in writing.

·  Maintains current NERC Operator certification
