Systems Developer/Analyst

The Systems Developer/Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization’s enterprise-wide client/server business and Internet applications.  This position works closely with business area teams in order to ensure seamless data transfer and mining between systems for various business applications and web-connected projects.

 

This position develops and supports client/server and web applications, provides network and system administration, and supports telecommunications systems.  Supports in-house developed and off the shelf applications such as CIS (customer information system), CMS (customer management system), propane delivery system, financial, payroll, construction work order, and inventory.

 

This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and to perform a variety of complicated tasks.  The position must be able to work in a multi-task environment with minimal supervision, and use a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

 

Must have good interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, a team player, flexible, able to work independently, with excellent written and oral communications.

 

The position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in the information technology field.  Experience with Java, Websphere IDE, MS SQL, JSP, JavaScript, HTML, DB/2, .Net (C#, VB), relational databases, client/server and web technologies preferred.

 Determines scope of work and clearly defines work products, requirements, and estimates time and resources for tasks and projects.Works with minimal guidance and takes charge of situations when the need arises.Works with the end user community on system issues.Acts as liaison between users and software application vendors in troubleshooting data and application problems.Creates programs, reports, and queries.Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify project objectives.Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and installing.Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.Exports and imports data between systems; maps fields between systems; converts and merges databases.Creates and modifies user accounts and maintains security levels on databases.Develops and implements backup and recovery strategies.Installs, supports, and troubleshoots hardware and software.Installs software patches and fixes.Installs, supports, and upgrades enterprise-wide applications.Keeps current with off-the-shelf application releases.Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.Provides for the seamless transmission of data between applications and systems.
