Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of Maintenance and Reliability Team Leaders located in Pascagoula, Mississippi through May 19, 2008.Reliability and Maintenance Team Leader working in one of the following groups: Routine Maintenance, Projects, or Turnaround Planning & Execution. Team Leader exercises proprietary responsibility in coordinating, directing, and executing all maintenance in assigned position. Responsible for reliability, maintenance and repairs, personnel functions, cost control, safety and fire prevention, compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, the enforcement of operating standards, company policies and refinery rules.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Supervises, coordinates, and directs activities of assigned area, facilities, and/or related equipment in accordance with Refining operating plans and instructions.• Collaborates with Shift Team Leads, Maintenance Team Leads and Engineers in review of maintenance problems and necessary operations coordination. Makes recommendations for the improvement of maintenance practices, use of materials and inspection techniques. • Works closely with the Reliability Focused Maintenance Planning and Scheduling group as necessary, to discuss work in progress, to plan or schedule work and outline work to be done in the following weekly periods. Works closely with Planning and Scheduling Team Lead to coordinate manpower needs.• Reviews work orders, makes initial investigations, and works with the other Shift Team leaders on job prioritization. Ensures that materials and other needed items are present at job locations, keeps informed on related work and coordinates work schedule with operations.• Functions as overall Company representative for construction and maintenance contracts as assigned. Obtains necessary permits, clearances and lines up contractors. Reviews Refinery rules and regulations with contractors and direct employees, as well as making sure they have been integrated into the Refineries Incident and Injury Free culture.• Explains and enforces all management approved rules, standards, procedures, governmental requirements, and Company policies to assigned personnel to ensure mechanics are following these consistently and completely. Ensures all mechanics are current and up to date with all job required safety and specialty training. Mentors, Coaches and supports work group, and ensures that PMP’s/ESP’s are completed on time and support the work groups and individual employees goals and development. • Works closely with the Turnaround group to ensure that the TA Core teams are meeting deadlines, staffed appropriately, and recommends, when appropriate, actions required to close the cost/schedule gaps. Personally checks progress of work for conformance to specifications.• Enforces all safety and fire prevention rules, ensures that maintenance tasks are performed properly and safely. Reports any unsafe or hazardous condition and initiates corrective action. Investigates mishaps and prepares appropriate reports.• Conducts special studies as assigned; Supports updating of standards, emergency procedures, etc. • Leads integration of safety plans into the planning process and is fully familiar with Tenets of Operation and their practical application with regard to turnaround planning. • Champions the IMPACT process.• Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for turnaround planning and execution. Aligns with Core Teams on targets and helps remove barriers regarding KPI concerns.• Ensures that roles, responsibilities and accountabilities are fully aligned throughout the teams.• Coordinates integration of Refinery Capital Projects into the turnaround planning process so that one consistent turnaround execution plan is achieved.• Works collaboratively with multi-functional teams to prepare estimates and schedules and monitor performance.• Works with schedulers to ensure that execution schedules are fully optimized and operating to plan.• Leads preparation of cost / schedule reports, cash flow, and total expenditure forecasts.• Continuously monitors performance in support of Refinery Business Plan and gives advice on status and corrective actions.• Accesses Passport to manipulate work orders and handle contractor work needs.• Interfaces with Finance group to assess cost impact on Refinery Business Plan and give advice on corrective actions.• Interfaces with Operations Planning group to select optimum timing and corresponding intervals for optimum availability and reliability performance.• Interfaces with Contracts group to assess contractor needs, support, and issues.• Executes turnarounds utilizing the Turnaround Execution Plans. Ensures turnarounds are executed in a safe, timely, and effective manner.• Investigates causation factors following Loss Prevention System and develops work processes to institutionalize lessons learned in order to repeat excellent performance and eliminate or mitigate factors that could cause poor performance in the future.Refinery Experience: Prior history of increasing levels of responsibility such as Temporary Team Leader, Planner, Technician, or Company Representative roles. Demonstrated results reducing equipment downtime or improving routine maintenance performance.
