Acts as an advocate for the client, as the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to address client business problems. Provides direction for design activities. Often project-based, sometimes working at customer sites, and typically measured by utilization (i.e., billable hours).Provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary analysis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customer needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support reps, or engineers. This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking. This position will also assist the integration tasks of Itron software with other information systems such as the customer information system (CIS), meter collection system, and geographic information systems (GIS). This position requires knowledge of computer systems and computer software including software deployment, operating systems, databases, .NET applications, integration, and network communications. These requirements include customer presentations, training and written and verbal communications with minimal guidance.Duties & Responsibilities1. Support onsite and in-house technical solutions for implementation projects. 2. Consult with customer or supervisor to plan layout of equipment.3. Provide on-site technical assistance to investigate, troubleshoot, and repair systems.4. Inspect malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem.5. Analyze data and inspection findings to recommend corrective action.6. Develop and conduct training on the installation and safe operations of the equipment to both internal and external customers.8. Recommend modifications to eliminate future problems.9. Develop service handbooks and bulletins based on field investigations, engineering changes and overall knowledge of product.10. Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service is provided. Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 2 years related experienceExperience working in the Utility Industry preferredWorking knowledge of AMR/AMI metering systems preferredEducation: BS in Technical or Science field recommendedTravel Requirements: 50 - 70% RESPOND HERE!
