Job Title: Technical Specialist



Job Details:

Provide onsite energy management services for a large industrial machining and component assembly facility by identifying and implementing optimization opportunities relative to the consumption of energy. Must have the ability to work effectively within a customer’s facility and organization. Must be able to work in a self-directed environment with some senior technical supervision.

General responsibilities include:

· Tracking  energies consumed by the facility

· Working with others to analyze energy data

· Providing oversight for initiating and implementing energy optimization opportunities

· Acting as the On-Site Energy Consultant

 

Skills Required:

Must be experienced in troubleshooting/investigation/operation of industrial type equipment and understand how energy consuming equipment works.  Must be capable of providing results oriented leadership in a customer’s industrial facility by initiating and implementing energy optimization opportunities.

 

Typical areas of specific responsibilities are as follows:

·Develop and coordinate energy committees and “Energy Awareness Campaigns” within a customer’s facility

·Weekend and holiday shutdown assessments

·Process line walkdowns

·Air leak surveys

·Steam trap surveys

·Gas Leak Surveys

·Monthly plant energy consumption reports including status of energy optimization opportunities

·Motor surveys

Five to ten years of power plant, field operations or industrial experience or the equivalent is required.

 

- Bachelor in Science in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or Computer Science

 

Skills Desired:

Typical areas of knowledge:

·General computer skills

·Inspection/setup/troubleshooting of gas combustion equipment

·Switch Gear Preventative Maintenance

·Boiler efficiency Testing

·Air Compressor and Chiller performance curves

·Furnace Burner Adjustments

 

Must be flexible, innovative, have sound administrative skills, capable of managing

multiple projects.  Maintain a cooperative working relationship with various companies, departments, contractors, vendors, crafts, etc.  Follows safe working practices at all times.

 

DESIRED TRAITS:

Requires excellent communication (verbal and written), teamwork and leadership skills.  Candidate should be comfortable interacting with all levels of management and employees in a client organization. Strong planning skills and ability to work effectively as a management team member.
