Test Engineer - Rotor Balancing/Vibration 
WE are a global leader and provider of power generation engineering, products, and services. We are seeking a Balancing & Vibration Engineer.  This position is based at our Service Center, located in Richmond, VA.  The facility remains one of the largest dedicated full-service shops in North America and can accommodate some of the world's largest turbines and generators.
 
Basic Functions :
Balance rotors in the Richmond Test Facility and at Power Plants as required.  Prepare equipment and material used for balancing processes and operations of the Test Facility.
 
Essential Functions
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following (may perform other functions that may be assigned): Rotor balancing Prepare test documents and materials for the balancing process both in the Test Facility and field operations Produce test results documentation and reports. Manage and execute projects related to the balancing processes Ensure facility is operated in a safe and efficient manner
Associate Qualifications
Education:
BS in Engineering or equivalent field and/or certified apprenticeship in the field.
Will also consider a technical degree or proven equivalent (apprenticeship in related field) with at least two years related experience. 
 
Skills/Experience:
Minimum of two years experience conducting both field and shop high speed balancing tests, structural analysis or related experience.
Ability to travel as required up to 25%
Demonstrated ability to work independently


Successful candidate must be computer literate and possess excellent customer service skills
Knowledge and/or understanding of the following: rotor dynamics (mechanical) rotor dynamic problems associated with turbo generator machinery bearing design and vibration measurement chains
