JOB DESCRIPTION – DRILLING RIG TOOL PUSHER





This procedure is to establish the Job Description for the Tool Pusher of Dallas-Morris Drilling, Inc.



The primary functions of this position include quality, on time, and profitable completion of all assigned jobs. This position is also responsible for the care and upkeep of assigned tools and equipment.





REQUIREMENTS:

• High School graduate or equivalent combination of experience and education.• Licensing/Registration/Certification:• Valid Drivers License and insurable

 Experience:• At least three years experience in the oil and gas drilling industry.• Supervisory experience• Fluent knowledge of oil and gas drilling processes.• Ability to communicate and direct the efforts of others.• Ability to perform and fill in as a driller in his absence.Physical Requirements:

• Sitting, standing and bending• Walking, bending and ability to climb on and around the drilling rigs and negotiate difficult terrain associated with drilling sites.• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds• Weight limit may be set by a company approved health care provider and stated on an employee’s Physical Capabilities Evaluation Form.• Ability to communicate clearly, written and verbal, in English with employees, management, customers, regulatory agencies and members of industry.• Ability to understand the use and capabilities of drilling equipment and tools.

 This position is regularly exposed to the following conditions:• Drilling job site environment.• Travel requirements.• Exposure to outside weather conditions.• Exposure to moving equipment.





 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

• The Tool Pusher reports to the Drilling Superintendent.• The Driller and his hands reports directly to the Tool Pusher.• The Tool Pusher derives sufficient authority from the Drilling Superintendent to perform all assigned functions.

    The responsibilities and duties of the Tool Pusher include, but are not limited to the following:

• To direct and control the drilling operation over 24/7 in the safe and efficient manner in drilling oil and gas wells.   • On-call 24/7 as long as the Tool Pusher’s assigned rig is operating.• Notify the state inspector of spud date, casing program, and cementing time.• Order the necessary materials on a timely manner from casing to fuel and supplies.                       • Schedule the water trucks.• Order service company trucks when needed like cement and loggers.• Perform the necessary preventive maintenance.• Meet the customer’s deadlines.• Ensure that all new employees are properly trained.• Ensure availability and proper security of all materials and tools for assigned jobs.• Enforce the company’s safety regulations and guidelines.• Communicate completion delays to the Drilling Superintendent.• Complete required job documentation and ensure they are submitted in a timely manner.• Ensure proper clean up of job sites daily.• Ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained, secured and returned to the proper location.• Administer proper disciplinary processes and documentation on assigned projects, up to and including termination.• Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of industry technique and equipment.• Perform all other duties in the best interest of the company or as directed by his manager.• Conduct safety meetings for the crew as needed at least once a month.• The Tool Pusher is required to be present (not on the phone) at his rig: When his crew needs help.• During casing and cementing operations when the well is at TD for the safety of the crew and protection of the rig
