Training and Documentation Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: The Training and Documentation Administrator for Field Services will direct the planning, coordination and delivery of comprehensive technical training programs for a growing technical department.  This incumbent is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of training documentation, curriculum, training delivery mechanisms, performance evaluation, performance tracking, instructional design and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS degree or equivalent in journalism or technical field.  Five years + experience in technical curriculum development and technical writing. Directly related experience and/or specialized training in providing comprehensive training and development programs in the oil and gas exploration industry helpful.  Working knowledge of CBT/WBT 3-learning packages and other relevant software tools including Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and the adaptability to learn new software. Ability to conduct needs assessments and to develop training content through independent research and subject matter expert interviews.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills with solid aptitude and affinity for technology.

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:Direct, Plan and coordinate personnel training and staff development programs for field services operations. Conduct needs assessment to identify components necessary to develop and implement comprehensive training plan.Confer with management and supervisory personnel to determine training needs. Develop and implement comprehensive training plan.Develop and implement curriculum Develop and implement training policies and designate training procedures. Develop and implement training manuals, standard operating procedures, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids and other training materials. Develop and Implement “Train the Trainerâ€� programs on Health and Safety topics and technical procedures/processes. Compile data and analyze past and current year training requirement to prepare and justify budgets.Monitor and evaluate internal and external instructorsServe as an instructor performing both classroom and hands-on training, employee orientation, and other related technical  courses in support of the Field Service Department;
