Traveling Engineer

I am a recruiter who works for large engineered equipment manufacturers. I have a great entry level position with a 200 million dollar mfr.



Qualified candidates MUST have a BSME or BSMET engineering degree. Microsoft Access experience is a  plus.

Any of the following experience is a huge plus:

pump

compressor

mechanical seal

refinery

chemical plant

rotating equipment repair



The single draw back to many people(a plus to others) is you must be willing to travel constantly for 8-18 months initially. After your initial training,you will travel to refineries,chemical plants,power plants etc. and work with the engineers throughout the facility to inventory all of their rotating equipment( what pumps are running with what mechanical seals,what fluids are being pumped at what temperatures.)



You can live anywhere in the U.S. & you will be gaurenteed home every 2nd weekend( or they will fly you anywhere in the 48 states if you instead wish to visit family or friends).



It is a great way to bank a lot of $ in your first year.Your meals are all covered. You are living most every night in a hotel paid for by the company. You get to keep all of the frequent flyer miles & hotel reward benefits. You will be working for the WORLD LEADER in their industry.



You'll be promoted with a pay raise plus a bonus in 8-18 months to a position of zero or little travel (your choice). If you choose to leave this company,you will be INTENSELY marketable to engineered equipment mfrs.,engineering contractors,refineries,chemical plants,etc. because of the experiences & exposures you will receive. But I doubt you would leave this mfr.
