About the Position

 

General Description:


LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - NO RELOCATION OR PER DIEM


Will assist Field Technician(s) with daily maintenance activities to achieve safe, efficient, environmentally compliant and cost-effective wind powered electrical generation. Activities include but are not limited to the maintenance, installation, repair and inspection of mechanical equipment.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:Climb 250 feet wind tower on regular basis (There are two decks between the bottom and yaw decks to take a break if needed).Successfully complete site trainingInspect and perform torque checksLubricate moving parts or brush, visual inspectionsOil gearboxesChange oil in pitch motors located in tower hubChange oil filtersMust be able to work long days and some weekendsMust keep work areas cleanDuties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

Physical Demands:
Qualified individual should be able to climb 250 feet tower several time repeatedly, work in confined space(s) and must be able to see and move throughout site in order to resolve work problems and facilitate processes; repetitive motion activities are involved.

General Requirements:
A trained technician will accompany incumbent at all times. The site team will administer any special training that may be required.

Education/Experience/Training:
Successful completion of the climb test, PAR-Q & You Testing, drug testing and background check and 10 hour OSHA Safety-training course.


The use of proper PPE is required, i.e. hard hats, steel toe boots, gloves, climbing gear - lanyards/lad safe and harness Training course. HS diploma or equivalent with 3 years experience as a technician or mechanic.
