McNeal Professional Services, Inc. located in Kennesaw, GA has two immediate openings for a Fiber Technician and Installer position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Installer will be responsible for Fiber installations of DAS-Distributed Antenna System solutions as it relates to Radio Frequency in the 700MHz to 2GHz range. Testing and integration of these systems for voice and data to include 3G applications is an essential component to the everyday expectations. This will include radio frequency collection, data and building analysis, collecting drawings, composing scaled sketches, taking pictures, climbing, working on ladders, working on rooftops, completing site surveys, preparing work orders (RFQ), generating reports, utilizing spectrum analyzers, configuring BDAs, fiber remotes and hubs, lifting heavy materials (100lbs or more), drilling, mounting, caulking, bolting, fishing of various cables and specifying equipment of various types that are radio frequency compliant for 2G, 2.5G & 3G networks. The successful candidate will work frequently in the field supporting the In-Building team and designated project lead as necessary.
A thorough understanding of dark fiber, multimode fiber, single mode fiber, fiber splicing, fusion splicing, fiber connectors, Cellular, PCS, 3G, fiber equipment, repeaters, coax, connectors, jumpers, BDAs, CAT 5, couplers, diplexers, power dividers, transmitters, antennas, wattmeters, spectrum analyzers and a general system hierarchy for WiFi, WiMax, WCDMA, HSPA, iDEN, GSM and CDMA is a necessary component of the installer’s objectives.
The successful candidate will conduct analysis of live voice and data systems in areas of coverage enhancement by conducting tests utilizing spectrum analyzers and handsets in engineering mode. Field tests for potential systems will involve surveying to analyze frequency assignments and identifying technical parameters for design; documenting and reporting findings; identifying location-specific needs for new/existing coverage. Identifying causes of RF interference and troubleshooting interference problems; attending customer meetings as necessary in support of new projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute In-Building Fiber installation plans that meet the needs of our In-Building clients. Create internal price/cost quotations (RFQ) for In-Building project plans for Management.Primary POC for Fiber installationsConduct Fiber site visitsWork with internal and external parties to clarify Fiber requirements, installation priorities, and appropriately meet commitments.Work with internal and external resources (clients, vendors, etc.) to ensure that all the needs of and commitments to the In-Building Fiber clients are met, and resolving problems as needed. Regularly communicating status, issues, and expectations to Fiber Lead, Management and Senior Managers on a regular basis.Maintain excellent relationships with clients and partners involved in the delivery process. Provide feedback to the Operations Manager, Senior Managers, and engineering teams to improve the company’s on-going in-building business practices, operational procedures, or product and service offerings. Identify systemic external barriers to efficient and effective deliverables of In-Building Fiber projects. Propose potential solutions to problems that take into account the interests of all involved parties as well as the overall interests of the company.Provide a written weekly account of Fiber In-Building project (status report).
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Fiber CertificationLow Voltage license or equivalent experience1-2 years of hands-on fiber installation experience2-4 years of hands-on coaxial installation experience2++ years of hands-on wireless systems installation experience2++ years of demonstrated hands-on experience with spectrum analyzersIntermediate knowledge of LGC, Andrew & Mobile Access equipment2++ years of demonstrated knowledge on 2G & 3G systems2 years of experience conducting Radio Frequency field surveys for interior coverageA basic understanding of Distributed Antennae Systems to identify and resolve problems related to voice and data RF metrics.A basic understanding of cell phones and spectrum analyzersWireless data service including: UMTS, GPRS, Ev-Do, 1xrtt, Ev-Dv, HSPA, WiFi and Wi-Max Excellent analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· Fiber Certification
· Associate or other Technical degree
· Low Voltage License or equivalent experience
· Minimum of 2 years experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry
· Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following platforms: Windows 2000 & XP-PRO, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Access
· Project Management Certification is a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift minimum of 100lbs
