Accounting Manager

Must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, and a minimum of 10 years of experience. Also must have a minimum of 3 years as an accounting manager/chief accountant. The employee must have specialized knowledge of professional accounting principles, theories, and practices; guidelines or precedents applicable to kinds of accounting problems encountered; trends, current developments, and plans for future developments in financial management; organizational structures, functions, and procedures; and operating programs, policies, and accounting work processes. Must be able to apply knowledge of structure, functions, and procedures in solving accounting problems, and to develop methods for implementing prescribed accounting systems with the ability to predict the effect of changes recommended or instituted. Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance. Job Description : Salary range for this position is $60 - $70k annually.The employee performs the duties of a hands-on, working manager responsible for directing the accounting program (accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, Travel, and accounting systems) for the Company. Specific functional areas include:1. Supervising all work in general accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, accounting systems, payroll, taxes, and related areas.2. Supervising Accounting personnel.3. Establishing and maintaining standards and processes for account reconciliations, and performing reconciliations.4. Participating in corporate financial planning activity.5. Reporting to government agencies, as required, and supervising all matters relating to taxes and filing requirements.6. Establishing and maintaining adequate internal controls and audit procedures.7. Designing installation and maintenance of accounting and cost systems and records.8. Providing advisory services to senior management and performs other duties as required within the accounting and finance working environment.: : EOE M/F/D/V
