Position Title: Credit Accounts Clerk

Reports To: Credit Manager

Description:
Responsible for functions related to processing of credit applications, customer drafts, 3rd party financing invoices, Vical Financial deposits, tax exemption form maintenance, accounting and credit support as needed.

Responsibilities:
Maintains the filing of all credit applications.
Processes credit applications for pricing approval and credit reference check.
Establishes new customer accounts on terms established by Credit/Collections Manager.
Provides timely response to customer inquiries.
Timely and accurate processing of customer drafts on bi-weekly basis.
Reviews invoices daily for customer mailing and forwards 3rd party finance invoices for payment.
Daily processing of Vical Financial payments.
Handles daily deposit at Frost Bank and answers customer questions concerning open payables.
Manual Check preparation and input
Credit Card, cash payment and store deposit preparation and input
Backup for primary cash posting and handles account adjustments
Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills Required:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Education and/or Experience Required:
One-year certificate in accounting from college or technical school; and six months to one year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
