DescriptionJob duties include:Responsible to the functional department, to observe all policies and procedures for that area and to participate in the continuous improvement of systems and processes. Lead RFQ Project/Process through coordination of functional areas/groups including Sales, Program Management, Costing, Corporate and Plant Engineering and Quality groups to assure accurate, timely costing/quote submissions. Coordinate design, tooling and manufacturing launch with responsibility for customer satisfaction, quality, cost and timing, and APQP compliance. Communicate with external and internal customers to ensure present and future needs are met or exceeded. Develop design concept to maturity by proficient use of such tools as formal problem solving and root cause analysis along with planning, utilizing and testing of all necessary counter-measures. Work with supplier base to oversee products built from design feasibility construction through prototype and production tooling. Implement engineering changes through design, tooling release and production. Identify, plan and lead facility improvement projects at all facilities to improve manufacturing capabilities, practices and processes. Oversee engineering developmental tests to evaluate and verify design integrity and validate all project requirements.Required SkillsMust be able to travel up to 50-70% on occasions and as required both on a planned and short notice basis, travel will include national and international locations.Candidate must possess proficiency with MS Office, excellent communication skills, and the demonstrate ability to work well with others at all levels.Dedication to continuous learning is critical for this position.Required ExperienceMinimum Bachelors Degree (BS) in Engineering or related discipline with specific engineering application with five to eight years experience in similar environmentRequires strong technical knowledge of equipment, manufacturing and assembly processes, familiarity with sound quality practices and their impact on product design. Additionally the incumbant must be able to plan, organize and oversee the execution of the job requirements assigned to perform facilities project work in a team oriented, continuous improvement format.Must have familiarity of health and safety guidelines, and comply with OSHA and Industry regulations.Must demonstrate an effective and disciplined approach to problem solving including TQPS/Lean Manufacturing principles.Must be well organized and able to work with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects and tasks.
