Applications Engineer (Desalination Technology)

HPD, LLC, a division of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies (VWS) is currently seeking an Applications Engineer for our Desalination Competency Center.  This position will work at our Houston, TX office (located near the George Bush International Airport).

 

VWS is the world’s largest Desalination companies and provides both Thermal and Membranes systems worldwide. The Desalination Competency Center supports all our regional offices throughout the Americas.

 

The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the sizing and pricing of the desalinization technologies for industrial & municipal markets throughout the Americas. This position will support the development of cost-effective, innovative designs for the application of these technologies in wastewater treatment and process water production projects. 

 

This position requires a take-charge individual who is knowledgeable in physical/chemical treatment systems, equipment sizing, working with equipment suppliers and provide leadership in process definition and process conceptualization for treatment of wastewater and production of process water.

 

Other duties include:Development of flow and mass balances;Development of process flow diagrams and P&ID’s;Equipment sizing/selection;Development of utility requirements for treatment facilities;Preparation of equipment specifications;Preparation of proposals; Involvement throughout the project execution;Coordination/review of preliminary/final design documents, proposals and vendor submittals;Assistance in directing process start-up and troubleshooting efforts.

 

A Bachelor of Science Degree is preferred for this position with a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience. A strong background in the treatment of process water and wastewater treatment is desired. Knowledge of facility operations is beneficial, and a willingness to travel is required (15-20%).
