Responsibilities

 

Integrated Device Technology develops, manufactures and markets mixed-signal semiconductor solutions for Clocks in networking, SONET/SDH communications, servers and workstations applications.  As an Applications Engineer, this individual will provide factory-based pre and post-sale technical support to the IDT worldwide sales team, technical marketers and customers.  Specific duties will include providing both remote and on-site customer support, performing schematic reviews, lab experiments, generating simulation models and leading cross-functional teams as needed to help resolve customer issues.  This engineer will also  be responsible for training Sales Engineers and Field Applications Engineers.

 

 

Requirements

 

Applicant must have a thorough understanding of integrated circuits like phase lock loops, VCXO’s, crystal oscillators and other mixed signal devices. Hands-on experience with engineering lab equipment and procedures to measure various industry standard jitter parameters for both time and frequency domain is required.  Also desirable is a working knowledge of telecommunication and networking timing standards such GR-1244, GR-253, IEEE-1588 and their system level architectures.  Excellent customer relationship skills, the ability to make technical presentations and provide end customer training are necessary.  Effective communication skills, flexibility, a strong teamwork approach and the desire to work in a fast-paced aggressive environment are necessary.  Ideal candidates should have 5+ years experience in the timing industry with a BSEE or equivalent experience is required.
