Applications Engineer (entry-level)

HPD, LLC, a division of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies (VWS) is currently seeking an entry-level Applications Engineer for our Desalination Competency Center.  This position will work at our Houston, TX office (located near the George Bush International Airport).

 

VWS is the world’s largest Desalination Company and provides both Thermal and Membranes systems worldwide. The Desalination Competency Center supports all our regional offices throughout the Americas.

 

This entry-level Applications Engineer position will work under the direction of the senior Application & Process Engineers, providing support to the desalination design efforts. They will be mentored by the senior Application & Process Engineers and will learn to:

 Provide technical support to the sizing and pricing of the desalination technologies for industrial & municipal markets throughout the AmericasDevelop flow and mass balancesDevelop process flow diagrams and P&ID’sSize/select equipmentDevelop utility requirements for treatment facilitiesPrepare equipment specifications;Prepare proposals; Coordinate/review preliminary/final design documentsAssist in directing process start-up and troubleshooting efforts

 

A Bachelor of Science Degree is preferred for this position. Through coursework or previous internships, applicants should be knowledgeable in membrane treatment systems.  Experience with equipment sizing, working with equipment suppliers or process definition is preferred. A willingness to travel is required (15-20%).
