Lighting Industrial and Applications Engineer

Degree requirements:  BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, 3-5yrs experience.  Direct design / production experience in commercial lighting is an acceptable alternative to an engineering degree.

A major lighting manufacturer in the Dallas area has an immediate opening for a product design and control specialist in the commercial and industrial fluorescent lighting market.  Must have good communication skills, be comfortable working in Microsoft Office products (WORD, Excel), internet searches, customer and staff communication via email, have familiarity with CAD software, and have the ability to execute simple product designs.  Initial duties require working with experienced CAD operator to design lighting product, prototype product inspection, and schedule control of our sheet metal shop.

The position will subsequently expand to production control in our larger assembly operations.  This expansion of duties will be based on the strengths of the applicant, and may include translation of individual manager knowledge to a formal database, inventory control, bill of material development, part number control, restructuring assembly lines for improved production, product literature development and review, quality control, and / or production scheduling and control.  A background in any of these areas would be considered a strong plus.
