Archaeologist I/Field Technician

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct pedestrian surveys, testing and data recovery, archaeological monitoring, historical research, laboratory analysis, or other project related tasks.
Work with a team of professionals under the direction of field supervisors (directors).
Must be physically capable to walk 10 or more miles per day, carrying up to 40 lbs of field and safety equipment, often in difficult terrain and inclement weather.
Take initiative, resolve problems, and work to complete assigned tasks in the most time and cost-effective manner.

Qualifications
At minimum, a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution in the field of anthropology, archaeology, historic preservation, geology, or a closely related field. Applicants with archaeological work experience equivalent to a BA or BS degree may also be considered.
An archaeological field school or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and experience in archaeological survey, testing and data recovery, and monitoring is preferred.
Familiarity with Great Basin and/or Rocky Mountain archaeology is preferred, but not required.
