Bachelors degree in architectural history, historic preservation, or closely related field and directly related professional or educational experience in cultural resource management (CRM) including:- Historic property research methodology- Writing and preparing architectural descriptions - Field photography (primaryily buildings)- Familiarity with standard computer equipment and programs Job Description : URS Seeks qualified architectural historians to assist with Phase One of a multi-year project to assist with National Historic Preservation Act / Section 106 responsibilities related to a grant program providing assistance to homeowners. Project will last a guaranteed minimum of six months with a strong probability of continuing for up to one additional year. Successful candidates will live in proximity to, and work in, southern coastal Mississippi during their tenure on the job. Candidates who are interested in assignments of at least 90 days are encouraged to apply. This is a great opportunity for hands-on experience in the historic preservation field with one of the country's leading CRM firms. We encourage recent graduates as well as experiencede personnel to apply. Primary work responsibilities will include working as part of a team conducting architectural survey of historic resources (primary residences) in the four counties most damaged by hurricane Katrina in Mississippi. Work will be in a team environment requiring flexibility and adaptability, and the ability to work outdoors in variety of weather conditions. Compensation includes travel to and from Mississippi, hourly salary plus living expenses; researches will also be provided a rental car and some equipment. xurs07x : :EOE M/F/D/V
