Ashore/Offshore Electronic Technician

The Ashore / Offshore Electronic Technician supports offshore operations by conducting repair, and watch standing activities on a variety of navigation and hydrographic equipment. While ashore the person provides maintenance on the navigation and hydrographic equipment. The candidate also performs IT duties at sea and ashore



The individual must understand the use of oscilloscopes, electrical meters (DVM), spectrum analyzers, frequency synthesizers and similar test equipment.

The individual should be able to work with little to no supervision under a variety of conditions at the shop and in the field. With training, the technician must be able to effectively handle a variety of offshore watch standing requirements as the primary or sole electronics technician.

This position is an offshore deployable position and may require world-wide travel on short notice for extended periods.  It is expected that this person would be out on travel 4-6 months of the year and when not on travel the person is expected to be at the home facility performing system repair and maintenance.  In addition the candidate would perform IT duties and general computer/network troubleshooting in the field and at the home facility.
