Audio Video Control System Programmer

Purpose of Position

 

Provide off-site and on-site programming support for Electrosonic clients based mainly in New York City, NY area.  The selected candidate will also participate in the commissioning of projects. 

 

 Responsibilities & Duties

 

1.  Provide programming support for install projects and service repairs/upgrades

2.  Accountable for the overall customer satisfaction of the site.

3.  Advise sales and design staff on product usage.

4.  Assist in training of client’s staff.

5.  Provide technical phone support (e.g. answer questions, troubleshoot suggestions) to customer and Regional Service Technicians.

6.  Provide Service Coordinator with assigned call number and close-out paperwork / information in a timely manner.

7.  Provide all documentation in a timely manner (e.g. material and labor reports, preventative maintenance reports, expense reports, job costing records, timesheets). 

8.  Perform other activities and responsibilities as directed by the immediate manager.

9.  Understand the contractual requirements of any work undertaken by Electrosonic.

10. Responsible for creating a culture of positive customer care.

 Skills

 

1. Good customer service skills

2. Ability to write a program from provided system drawings, system description and client input..

3. Ability to program fluently in AMX and Crestron.

4. Understanding to program a system in Medialon Manager and Dataton Watchout

5. Understanding of Extron controllers, and universal IR/RF remotes.

6. Able to deal with difficult and demanding customer.

7. Good organizational skills.

8. Detail oriented.

9. Good practical technical knowledge of audio visual solutions for the corporate presentation and video conferencing markets.

10. Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, schematics, and training manuals.

11. Computer literate e.g. Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and scheduling programs, as well as a good understanding of computer functionality.

12. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.

13. Able to lift 50 pounds.

14. Good initiative.  Seek out new assignments and Identify needs of customers and colleagues.  

15. Self starting.  Able to research new controllers and software and with extra time learn to apply them 

16. Always presents a positive image of self and company.Education and Experience Requirements

 

1. Technical degree/certificate or equivalent job experience

2. “Hands-on” strong background in programming of conference room and museum systems.

3. Minimum 3 years related experience.

 Personal Protective Equipment and Other Requirements

 

1. Valid driver’s license.  Good driving record.

2. Technical tools including multi-meter.
