Audio Visual Engineer/Designer

Summary:  Perform Audio, Video and Control system engineering and programming as required to ensure that our systems meet and exceed our client’s functional specifications and reliability expectations. To assist in bringing the clients display needs from dream to reality. To generate detailed engineering documentation from sales proposals and contracts; to allow the fabrication, installation and commissioning of audio, visual projects. To communicate effectively with the project manager and other members of the systems engineering team. To work closely with the fabrication and installation staff to ensure the system design is correctly and efficiently implemented.

 

Responsibilities:

 

1. Engineering: To take full responsibility for project engineering activities and to ensure that all engineering functions are completed in a timely, efficient manner and to the client’s satisfaction.

2. System design drawings: Generate and develop system block diagrams, system single line and rack elevation drawings.

3. Facility documentation: To prepare facility impact packages including conduit plans, cable schedules, engineering calculations for power consumption and heat load, equipment site plans, projection sightline drawings and user interface solutions (OCC panels and touch screen layouts).

4. Procurement: Verify equipment specifications and assist with purchasing activities if required.

5. Fabrication: To provide engineering support during the fabrication process to ensure work can proceed on schedule and meets the engineering requirements.

6. Test: To support or conduct system test and pre programming activities to ensure our systems meet the functional specifications before they are shipped to site.

7. Programming: To take full responsibility for the project programming requirements and to ensure that all programming functions are completed in a timely, efficient manner and to the client’s satisfaction.  The ability to program AMX, or Crestron, as well as several other show programming systems.

8. Commissioning: to take full responsibility for the commissioning of Electrosonic systems at our client sites and to ensure that systems are operational on schedule, as necessary to allow the handover of the completed system.

9. Communications: To effectively communicate engineering clarifications, design changes and equipment substitutions to other departments.

10.  Written Documentation:. To communicate Installation and commissioning requirements to other Electrosonic staff. To prepare training documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, for on schedule delivery by the project manager. To prepare FAT and SAT documentation for delivery by the project manager when required.

11.  Engineering support: To support and assist the sales teams with the preparations and development of proposal and bid documents. To provide on site or phone support for systems between the time of client handover and start of service contract.

12.  Other: To perform other activities and responsibilities as directed by the immediate manager.

 

Skills:Ability to interface well with clients and co-workers.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

3.  Ability to work on the engineering and or programming of several simultaneous projects.Detail oriented.Strong organizational skills.

6.  Proficient with computers, high level programming languages a plus.

 

Requirements:

1.  Strong knowledge in audiovisual technologies and integration. With construction and installation experience.

2.  Professional presentation skills.

3.  At least 3 years experience in A/V control system program creation.

4.  Experience with audio DSP device programming.

5.  Attend training for certifications based upon the company needs.

6.  Project related travel required.
