AutoCAD Designer/Drafter

 

Our sister company, Signet Engineering, PA is a MEP engineering consulting firm in Charlotte, NC.  We are searching for a Design/Drafting professional to join our dynamic team.   Fantastic opportunity to mentor with licensed professional engineers!    Entry level candidates with formal training are acceptable.  Experience in engineering and architectural environments is desired.

 

This position will be supporting commercial mechanical and electrical engineering design and construction by operating computer-aided design system to produce construction plans.  AutoCAD and Excel are used extensively.

 

Duties:Provides mechanical and electrical design plans by operating computer-aided design system; analyzing design options; evaluating construction methods to determine efficient and economical design.Prepares drawings on cad system; prints drawings on large format printers, and transmits them electronically using Adobe Products.Coordinates drawings with architects and other engineering trades.Resolves design and construction problems by providing technical assistance to construction contractors.Maintains quality service by following organization standards.Maintains continuity among client and company work teams by documenting and communicating actions, and information required for project completion.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional and technical societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

AutoCad 2008, Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel, Design/Drafting Skills, Problem Solving, Quality Focus, Attention to Detail, Conceptual Skills, Communications with internal and external customers, PC Utilization and Time Management.  Understanding of Network Administration and Management is a plus.
