Automotive Electrician

This position is located at the Lear Siegler Services Red River Army Depot (RRAD) Maintenance site in Texarkana TX.High School diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years recent and related experience required.Knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical makeup, operation and working relationships of a variety of complex integrated electrical, electronic, electromechanical, electrohydraulic systems, accessories and components used on complex combat tanks, heavy mobile equipment, tactical wheeled vehicles, trailers, shelters and test stands. Ability to read and utilize schematics, blueprints and drawings. Ability to fabricate, modify, and/or repair wiring harness, radio harness, shielded cables of complex integrated electrical/electronic systems of combat tanks and tactical vehicles. A minimum of five years of full time verifiable experience is required. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:Frequent lifting of items weighing 44 pounds or less is required. However, unassisted lifting of batteries weighting 74 lbs. ea. is also required. Lifting devices such as hoist and slings are available in many of the work areas. Duties require stooping, bending, extended periods of standing on concrete or wooden floors. Incumbent is periodically required to climb ladder or work from moveable platforms to perform wiring on vehicle(s).Working in various weather conditions and temperature extremes. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, hearing protection is required as well as eye protection, safety shoes are mandatory at all times.Must be available for any shift. Willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.Salary for this position is $18.87 per hour.This position requires a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening." Job Description : Performs pre-shop analysis and diagnostics of complex integrated electronic, electrical and electromechanical systems/equipment/components to determine serviceability or extent of repair/replacement or modification of integrated systems or components necessary to comply with Depot Maintenance Work request (DMWR), Shop Work Orders, Scope of Works, and Technical Manuals. Work responsibilities are complicated by regular and recurring lack of available technical data and/or guidelines are not applicable as configurations are constantly evolving. Performs diagnostics/troubleshooting, disassembly, cleaning, repair and/or modification, assembly and testing of electrical (DC and AC), electromechanical accessories, electromechanical, electrohydraulic and electronic accessories, components and complex integrated systems. Systems include but are not limited to electronic fire suppression system, electronic fire detection system, electronic fuel control system, electronically controlled transmission, ventilation's control systems, hatch location indication system, electronic navigation system, electronic intercom and radio, power distribution system and NBC system.Performs diagnostics on complex integrated systems utilizing STE-ICE M1/FVS test sets, CableScan testers, mulitmeters, EQUATE and other electronic/electrical test equipment, gauges, calipers, torque wrenches and cables/probes and transducers.Performs other duties as assigned.Please note:Work on this contract is performed at the Red River Army Depot.
