Global Upstream is accepting online applications for the position of Business Base Advisor - IPSO, located in Houston, Texas, USA.Overview:The Integrated Production Systems Optimization (IPSO) Base Business Advisor participates in and leads reviews of Chevron Global Upstream (CGU) Base Business performance against standardized Processes and other Base Business activities. Helps with the design and maintenance of Base Business Processes related to Integrated Production System Optimization. CGU Process owner of the IPSO Process.Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:• Serves as the CGU Process Sponsor for all standardized Processes related to IPSO. Responsible for developing, documenting, maintaining and improving standardized Processes and review protocols related to IPSO. Also responsible for facilitating the deployment of standardized IPSO processes across CGU. • Participates in reviews and assessments of SBU operational performance in the area of Integrated Production System Optimization. Leads approximately 50% of the assessments. Assesses the implementation and effectiveness of CGU wide standard Processes, assesses overall base business performance, summarizes findings, develops recommendations to fill identified performance gaps, estimates financial and production gains associated with implementing the identified recommendations, and develops and issues final reports. Follows-up with the progress of the Strategic Business Unit’s (SBU) adoption of the recommendations from the reviews. Documents the presence and adoption of best practices in each SBU and shares them throughout CGU. On occasion, participates in reviews of operations outside of CGU. • Establishes and communicates with a network of experts within CGU on the implementation, effectiveness and understanding of standard Processes related to IPSO, as well as associated tools, and best practices. Leverages specific functional/technical skills, tools and processes from outside CGU to improve IPSO performance. • Works with Base Business Analyst to analyze and understand SBU Base Business metrics and data, and internal benchmarking of operational performance. Collaborates with SBU’s to identify areas of opportunity for process improvements to IPSO through benchmarking and data analysis.Required Qualifications• Demonstrated and well respected functional expertise in small project and operational facility engineering, asset development, operations geology, or operations management.• 10-15 years functional upstream experience. • Multiple basin or Operating Company experience (ideally both U. S. and international backgrounds).• Demonstrated understanding and application of process based approach to achieving business results.• Proven leadership and mentoring skills within multi-disciplined teams or organizations. • Ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and challenge the status quo.• Demonstrated ability to communicate one’s position and be able to influence others to see things differently – sharing/getting others to use best practices.• Ability to multi-task and work issues remotely (responsible for 6 Strategic Business Units worldwide, with some work done from Houston).• Ability/willingness to travel – significant travel required: 40-50% of time, both U.S. and internationally.• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Earth Science.Relocation Options:Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-TX-Houston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
