Biological Engineering and New Technology Associate

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), founded in 1908, is a professional association of more than 40,000 chemical engineers worldwide.  AIChE fosters and disseminates chemical engineering knowledge, supports the professional and personal growth of its members, and applies the expertise of its members to address the societal needs and improve the quality of life.

 

We are currently seeking an Associate for our New Technology Initiatives Department.  In this position, the successful individual will act as a partner for the Society for Biological Engineering and the key contact for technical initiatives in nanoscale science and energy.

 

Responsibilities:Develop monthly newsletters containing industry, technical global societal news.Working with volunteer organizations to provide support for meetings, websites and program initiatives.Work with conference chairs to develop and implement programming, marketing and sponsorship/exhibits at meetings; assemble conference program book.Develop proposals for grant funding of technological project that are important to our members and the community.Manage databases and analyze membership trends.Lead efforts to attract new members.Process financial network.Assist in the development of new meetings, programs and projects.

 

Requirements:BS degree in chemical or biological engineering or equivalent with 2-3 years work experience preferred.Experience in chemical, energy or biotech industry desirable.Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, and Word is required; experience in MS Access preferred.Excellent writing skills; strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.Strong attention to details with proofreading skills.Ability to follow through.Capability for effectively working with individuals and groups at all levels, building and sustaining relationships and acting as a team player.20% travel is required.
