Overview:

M-C Industries’ Polo Custom Products division is looking for a full-time CAD Technician to lead our transition from 2D AutoCAD to 3D Solid Modeling.  The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years experience with CAD design (or the equivalent in the form of education) and experience with Pro/ENGINEER or SolidWorks 3D solid modeling software (other similar software packages like AutoCAD, SolidEdge, SDRC or Catia is acceptable).  The applicant must also be proficient in PC software such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.  We need someone who is self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong verbal and written skills for our expanding Product Development department.  Our CAD Technician will be working with engineers, designers, sales managers and customers to develop new product design concepts and models of outsourced components.  The CAD Technician may be required to translate models to drawings and other documentation or prepare, assemble, review and release information for our Production Job Instruction travelers.
 

JOB SUMMARY:

Produce 3-D solid models, part drawings, facility layouts and inspection templates using Pro/ENGINEER (or SolidWorks) and AutoCAD.  The Detailer will work with the our Product Designers, Industrial Designer, Estimators, Sales Managers and the customers to capture design intent and create models, assemblies and/or drawings of the new product or components.  The Detailer will also maintain our drawing files and make engineering changes as necessary.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Ability to use Pro/ENGINEER (or equivalent 3D CAD system like SolidWorks) for product design.

· Produce engineering drawings per engineering standards from solid models or marked up customer drawings

· Make changes to prints and system

· Maintain an electronic log of all engineering drawings and revision history

· Enter new drawings into the Production Master system

· Communicate clearly and professionally with other associates, customers and outside sales reps in both verbal and written formats

·  Make recommendations on hardware and software to keep the Product Development departments design capabilities world-class

· Be assertive in seeking answers to questions on drawings and projects



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

AS degree preferred or one year certificate from college or technical school, or 2 years related experience, or equivalent combination of both.
