CIVIL ROADWAY ENGINEER

One junior-level engineer (4-8 years).  Experience desired includes work on roadway reconstruction projects, utility relocations, drainage, permitting, and overall plan preparation.  NYCDOT or NYSDOT experience a plus.

 

No. 7 Subway Line Extension Project includes the design of an extension to the No. 7 Subway Line including six new facility buildings.  Each building will require some minor civil engineering support.  Much of this support will consist of assisting the project architects with final site engineering with sidewalk grading, building location and property coordinates.  Additional support will consist of assisting the project mechanical and electrical engineers with obtaining utility services to the buildings.

Work tasks associated with this section include:Establishment of Line and Grade for Eleventh Avenue and West 36th Street. Development of Typical Sections Pavement Grading Plan – final roadway contours at 0.2 foot intervals Roadway Drainage – combination sewer Utility Plans – consisting of water, sewer (see drainage), traffic signal replacements, street lighting, telephone and electrical service.  Since this area is currently on a viaduct, the existing utilities are limited to street lighting and traffic signal service. Pavement Section – will be utilized from details developed for the first contract. Specifications Support and coordination with structural engineers for the layout of the retaining walls. Coordination with other disciplines and JV partners. Coordination with agencies

BSCE is required. 

NY PE is preferred.
