Inc. is accepting online applications for the position of Global Category Manager for Drilling Rigs located in Houston, Texas.The Global Category Manager of Drilling Rigs will be responsible for managing and coordinating global contracts and preferred supplier relationships for drilling rig segments assigned (deepwater, shelf (jack ups and TADs), and/or land rigs). Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:• Responsible for the strategic procurement and coordination of drilling rigs for Chevron global business units.• Builds and recommends rig contracting strategies that ensure Chevron takes an enterprise perspective when securing rig capacity. • Coordinates with business units and senior management to ensure that drilling rig procurement strategies are robust, strategic, and improve operational excellence (safety, reliability, and performance).• Leverages external industry networks (other operators and rig contractors) to secure rig capacity opportunities, including new contracts and rig sharing. • Builds strong internal networks amongst business unit stakeholders (Drilling & Completions Managers, D&C Engineering Managers & Superintendents, & SCM) to ensure proactive rig contracting strategies are implemented and that corporate level rig contractor relationships are managed effectively. • Serves as the global business manager, Global Category Manager, for the rig segment assigned. • Manages small team of contract advisor(s), business analysts, and technical assistant(s) to implement Chevron’s SCM Category Management process, including global market research, value creation, strategy development, price/cost analyses, industry trends, best practices, and industry benchmarking. • Negotiates International Master Agreements and leads headquarters level Advanced Supplier Relationships within delegated limits of authority for drilling rigs as directed by the business units. • Acts as a key commercial and operational expert during negotiations and is the HQ single point of contact for key drilling contractors and internal stakeholders relative to assigned drilling rig segment.• Serves as a resource to business units to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) / scorecards and contractor service quality meetings to help drive expected performance at the BU level. • Ensures assigned contracts are in compliance with all company, industry, and regulatory mandates.• Represents Chevron at selected industry wide forums and symposiums such as IADC, SPE, and Operator Rig Sharing meetings.• Serves at Chevron’s enterprise wide expert on drilling rig markets that are assigned (deepwater, shelf, and/or land rigs).Required (Basic) Qualifications• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business required.Preferred Qualifications• Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business preferred.• Industry experience working for a drilling contractor in marketing, contract development, and negotiations preferred. • Drilling operations experience preferred.Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.An expatriate assignment will be considered.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-TX-Houston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
