Chemical Production Manager

… Sud-Chemie Inc., a global leader in specialty chemical and catalyst manufacturing has an immediate opening for a Production Manager at our U.S. Headquarters in Louisville, KY. If you meet or exceed the following qualifications please apply today for this excellent opportunity.   Duties and Responsibilities:   Scheduling and monitoring production campaigns to meet ship dates. Monitoring performance by using key performance indicators.  Challenging and guiding teams and/or individuals toward attainment of established improvement goals. Monitoring product quality by proactively steering each production campaign. Monitoring product yields and material balances. Always striving for 100%. Ensures that the assigned production units are operated in accordance with proper environmental guidelines. Supports SCI’s safety program by ensuring that safety rules are properly followed and actively seeks out opportunities to fix potential safety hazards. Championing continuous improvement in productivity, process safety, personnel safety, quality, and yield. Using the Quality Management System as the blueprint to produce the highest quality product. Process implementation, improvement, and production optimization. Measurement of Product Quality, Process Capability, Yield, etc. utilizing various Statistical Process Control techniques and tools. Utilization/Coordination of the following resource functions as needed to ensure smooth plant operations; Sales, Quality Control, Purchasing, Human Resources, Accounting, Engineering and Maintenance (others as needed). Employee development and succession planning Employee Relations (i.e. Coaching, Counseling, Performance Evaluations, Policy Application, etc.)

Requirements:   BS in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or Chemistry. Minimum of 3 years in a Leadership/Supervisory position in a plant or production environment, preferably in chemical processing. Excellent presentation skills in addition to written and oral communication. Must possess proven project management skills from inception through completion. Excellent interpersonal skills and able to handle high pressure situations easily. Proven leadership skills (Uses appropriate interpersonal skills to guide teammates toward meeting objectives; modifies behavior according to situational needs). Must be a self starter and able to make fast and accurate decisions. Must have excellent overall computer skills, SAP experience is preferred but not required. Excellent safety record – Proactively supports and recognizes safe operating practices. Training and experience in SPC, Communications, Conflict Resolution, Delegation Skills, Coaching, Leadership, and willingness to complete additional training as required.
