Civil CAD Designer

About your role …

As a Civil CAD Designer, you will be working closely with multi-disciplinary project teams involved with municipal, commercial, military and industrial projects. Your responsibilities will involve using AutoCAD to design the various infrastructure components associated with site development (Water, Wastewater, Streets/Roads, etc.). You will also be responsible for designing the grading and drainage plans for these site development projects. Acting as the CAD Lead on a project, you will be responsible for in initial project setup through to plan completion. What’s so great about this job, anyway?

This is a terrific opportunity if you have a keen interest in technology and an interest in expanding your civil drafting and design capabilities on large and complex projects. You will work closely with senior engineering staff to learn and understand the general designs for the site. You will then be responsible for interpreting the general designs so that you can develop detailed designs. From sketches, you will develop and design plans, sections, and detail views. You will be responsible for organizing, annotating and dimensioning drawings so that Tetra Tech’s designs can be clearly interpreted in contract documents for bidding and construction, If you’re a self starter who has solid experience to offer, but would like to learn and contribute more, this is the role you’ve been looking for. What kind of candidate are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of AutoCAD experience, specifically related to civil/site development - expereince with Autodesk Land Desktop and/or Autodesk Civil 3D is highly preferred. Any college-level coursework in AutoCAD and engineering will be beneficial. Field experience and the ability to understand construction documents is also a plus. Why join Tetra Tech?
