Civil/Site Design Engineer
Jacobs Engineering is presently seeking qualified candidates for the following Civil/Site Design Engineer opportunity.Responsibilities: Journey level; has comprehensive understanding of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards and their application. Responsible for performing all aspects of engineering and design. Works under minimal supervision, work is reviewed for adequacy on completion. May provide some technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel. Researches, develops, designs, and tests a variety of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial and industrial purposes. Evaluates the desired goal of the system and develops, designs, or selects the required equipment, power controls, piping, structures and earthwork to achieve the goal: Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications: Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects: Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements: Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer: May direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations: May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering task.Requirements: This position will work under project managers and senior engineers to perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles and advanced knowledge of storm drainage analysis, conveyance, and detention storage/routing. Typical assignments are Civil/Site Engineering projects including but not limited to drainage studies and design, site/civil planning and land development design, and highway planning and design. The Civil/Site Engineer shall perform overall site layout, grading, utilities, drainage, and sewer design to support studies, designs, and plan preparation. The Civil/Site Engineer may act as Project Engineer and/or Civil Design Lead on small- to medium-sized projects.Academic background should include a minimum basic hydrology and hydraulics, surveying, and transportation engineering. Analytical background should include computer skills, the ability to work independently and in a team of engineers and/or designers, and technical writing skills. Candidate should possess good oral and written communication skills, decision-making, problem resolution, and a sense of initiative and responsibility as a prerequisite for this position and career advancement.4-7 years of experience required, BS or MS in an engineering discipline, EIT required; PE registration desirablePlease apply to www.jacobs.com and reference IRC5949
