Civil Structural Engineer

Harris Group Inc., a design-engineering firm, currently is seeking a licensed Civil or Structural Engineer to join our design team in our Portland, Oregon office to fill a variety of engineering roles for new facilities and/or modifications of existing facilities.  The nature of our projects affords opportunities to challenge your design skills, while balancing cost and schedule concerns.  Our staff of experienced professional engineers provides a resource pool to assist in growing your career.

Our current project backlog is a mix of municipal, airports, port facilities, and large manufacturing facilities.  Our projects typically involve structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry.  We have multidiscipline engineering teams designing large production facilities and alternate energy projects.  Seismic upgrades to existing facilities are common to many projects.

We are seeking engineers that enjoy challenging projects and opportunities for growth and increased responsibility.  The nature of our projects provides opportunities to lead design efforts and learn project lead skills.

 

Candidates must have a minimum of a BS or equivalent in civil (structural emphasis) or structural engineering.  The position is for a licensed engineer, but candidates with the drive and experience to secure professional licensing will be considered. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills; be self-motivated; goal-oriented; able to work independently, and as part of a team.

 

Candidates should be experienced in:

 Analysis and design of industrial facilities using structural steel, reinforced concrete and masonry as the primary materials of construction.Knowledgeable in the use of STAAD Pro and similar analysis and design software.Building code regulations, including seismic design and construction practices.Coordinating with other design disciplines.

Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
