Commissioning Specialist

N. A. Water Systems, LLC, a Division of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies (VWS) is currently seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment System Commissioning Specialist to be based in our Moon Township, PA office.

 

N. A. Water Systems, LLC provides complete water and wastewater solutions from initial studies and process design to complete design-build services.  With expertise and know-how based on 90 years of experience in a range of industries, our complete capabilities include environmental studies and consulting services, process development and testing, detailed engineering and drawings, project and construction management, system start-up and operational training.  Our experience in providing complete solutions for a variety of facilities includes: industrial water and wastewater treatment, water and wastewater recycle/reuse, municipal water supply and wastewater treatment, industrial air pollution control, storm water management, solids dewatering/recycling/incineration/disposal and landfill design.

 

The Commissioning Specialist provides highly visible support to the Company’s industrial and municipal customers by performing on-site work with complex water and wastewater equipment and systems, such as equipment installation checkout, start-up, performance testing and operator training.  This position has the responsibility of inspecting and approving the operational quality of system equipment, as well as instructing customers in the operation and maintenance of this equipment.

 

Specific responsibilities associated with this position include:Inspect, commission, monitor and approve the operational quality of systems and equipment for the treatment facilityInstruct customers on technical matters for assigned projects and interpret customer’s needsInstruct customers in the operation and maintenance of treatment equipment and systemsProvide support for customers in areas of installation, commissioning, operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of treatment plant systems/equipmentProvide technical support for customers with routine operational problemsProvide operational and equipment troubleshooting supportProvide startup input to engineering personnel during design phase of the projectDevelop site specific startup and acceptance testing plans and schedules.Develop system specific Operations and Maintenance Manuals.Oversee and schedule equipment vendors during the facility commissioning.Provide feedback to Project Team Member on Lessons Learned from Project StartupApproximately 45 to 65% of the work involves travel to project sites.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience: B.S. degree in a science or engineering disciplineA minimum of 5 years related experience with installation and start-up Knowledge of water and/or wastewater systems and technologiesAbility to read and interpret complex systems-level and component-level schematicsBasic knowledge of instrumentation, PLCs and electrical systems is required.Ability to complete an installation from beginning to end including sign-off and customer acceptance  Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems during installation or start-upMust possess a clear working knowledge of common windows-based software for reporting.  This may include Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point  Must possess written and verbal good communication skills as this position works regularly with customers and various internal departments such as project management, engineering, sales, accounting, etc.Ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally, nationally and internationally as required
