Component Engineer

 

Project or Program Description:Report on the qualification of new components. Implement plans to deal with high risk components. Develop Source Control Documents for alternate components and suppliers. Recommendation for use of new technologies/components.  What are the duties of the contractor?Identify obsolete and EOL components, review impact, identify new vendor. Pro actively identify second sources. Sourcing of alternative functional blocks for compatibility and cost effectiveness and benchmarking of these functional blocks. Interface with Internal Supply Chain & commodity managers and external vendors. Provide engineering with information concerning component manufacturer's quality and capability. Serve as liaison to supplier to identify problems with faulty parts; identify & approve a test screen and institute a corrective action plan.  Background Required:Minimum five years experience as materials/component engineer in an electronics manufacturing environment. BSEE or equivalent. In-depth knowledge and understanding of the design process for systems and printed circuit boards, subassemblies, or other related company products. Knowledge of MAS-200 software and Crystal Report Writing are a plus Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
