High School Graduate or Equivalent. Completion of higher level schooling in computer programming with a minimum of sixty (60) months recent and related experience. Experience that has equipped the applicant to perform the duties of the position and that which is typically in or related to client domain and email accounts; data network and hardware configuration; system building and reload; and troubleshooting and analyze user interim connectivity with LAN. Experience that demonstrated knowledge of computer requirements and techniques in carrying out project assignments consisting of several related tasks. Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly. Must have valid drivers license. Must be able to work overtime upon request. Job Description : At this level, initial assignments are designed to develop competence in applying established programming procedures to routine problems. Performs routine programming assignments that do not require skilled background experience but do require knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements. Works according to clear cut and complete specifications. The data are refined and the format of the final product is very similar to that of the input or is well defined when significantly different, i.e., there are few, if any, problems with interrelating varied records and outputs. Maintains and modifies routine programs. Makes approved changes by amending program flow charts, developing detailed processing logic, and coding changes. Tests and documents modifications and writes operator instructions. May write routine new programs using prescribed specifications; may confer with EDP personnel to clarify procedures, processing logic, etc. In addition, may evaluate simple interrelationships in the immediate programming area confers with user representatives to gain an understanding of the situation sufficient to formulate the needed change, and implements the change upon approval of the supervisor or higher level staff. The incumbent is provided with charts, narrative descriptions of the functions performed, an approved statement of the product desired (e.g., a change in a local establishment report), and the inputs, outputs, and record formats. This Worker reviews objectives and assignment details with higher level staff to insure thorough understanding; uses judgment in selecting among authorized procedures and seeks assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise. Work is usually monitored in progress, and all work is reviewed upon completion for accuracy and compliance with standards.Performs services in a sequence of detailed instructions to solve problems by electronic data processing (EDP) equipment. Draws program flow charts to describe the processing of data and develops the precise steps and processing logic which, when entered into the computer in coded language, such as COBAL, FORTRAN, cause the manipulation of data to achieve desired results. Tests and corrects programs and prepares instructions for operators. Modifies programs to increase operating efficiency or to respond to changes; maintains records to document program development.Responsible for repair and maintenance of computer and STAMIS systems to include SARSS-1/2, SAMS-1/2, ULLS-A, ULLS-G, ULLS-S4, SPBS, SAMS-E, MC4, TC AIMS II and PBUSE. Performs diagnostics, removal and replacement of faulty hardware components. Tests, loads, and analyzes STAMIS applicable software. Performs periodic and mandatory updates of STAMIS software. Conducts system troubleshooting on and off site. Advises customers of proper care for STAMIS systems, documents and archives steps to resolve issues. Receives and logs to the Help Desk ensuring inquiries and problems are resolved. Provides technical assistance to users to minimize disruptions of computer operations. Tests and analyzes computer hardware and software malfunctions to resolve physical and processing problems. Analyzes, evaluates, and resolves malfunctions by adjusting equipment configurations, realigning port allocations, recommending software, and LAN installation and operation problems. Evaluates, implements, and maintains systems software techniques/system upgrades.Other duties as assigned. : :
